Their story
Why I started Birchmere
“Families need a service that's responsive and there when it's needed. That's why I started Birchmere.”
I'm originally from Melbourne, and for the last ten years I've called Canberra home. My children have moved out and gone off to university, so I now have more time to give to the thing I care about most.
I spent much of my career in executive roles in corporate life. Then I looked after my own elderly parents, and it left me with a conviction: families need a better service, one that is responsive and there when it's needed.
So I founded the Birchmere group, to build that service for families and older people across the country.
Today my focus is simple: making sure older Australians get the best possible companionship.
What I do at Birchmere
As CEO, I lead the Birchmere Group. Day to day, that comes down to three things.
- Leading Birchmere across Australia, and setting the direction for the whole group.
- Backing our leaders in each state and territory, so the people closest to you can look after you well.
- Keeping our promise to match every client with a carer by interests, language and personality, wherever they live.
